For All Saints Day today, we took all of the names of those who had died in the history of the congregation and hung them around the sanctuary. Our inspiration came from Hebrews 12, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us..." We also collected names of loved ones outside the congregation. At the end of the day, we had over a thousand names hung on individual slips of paper, in chronological order by date of death.
